「月が綺麗ですね」
Tsuki ga kirei desu ne
"I Love You"
(The literal translation for this is "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?")
It is the story about the famous Japanese writer, Soseki Natsume, helping his students translate English to Japanese when he was working as an English teacher. He saw one student translating "I love you." into Japanese word-for-word. Soseki told his students that was not Japanese (because it was too "direct"), but "the moon tonight is beautiful, isn't it?" would be understood.
There is absolutely no reference that back up this story, but isn't it a beautiful story?
If you are looking for a unique "I Love You" card for your loved ones, this would be perfect. I also made an Origami heart using Japanese Washi paper (with petal looking decoration in it) as in the photos. You can choose the Origami heart attached to the card or detached.
The card in the photos is a sample, so each card would be handwritten by me after orders are placed. Therefore it might look slightly different from the sample.
