「月がきれいですね」Tsuki ga kirei desu ne
"I Love You"
(The literal translation for this is "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?")
It is the story about the famous Japanese writer, Soseki Natsume, helping his students translate English to Japanese when he was working as an English teacher. He saw one student translating "I love you." into Japanese word-for-word. Soseki told his students that was not Japanese (because it was too "direct"), but "the moon tonight is beautiful, isn't it?" would be understood.
There is absolutely no reference that back up this story, but isn't it a beautiful story?
If you wish to have your name and your loved one's name on it to make it an absolutely personalized gift, there is an option! I will add the names (first name only) in Katakana character.
It comes with a frame which could be used as a stand or a hanging scroll. You can choose the color you prefer: brown or green.
A little Origami heart also comes with it! (Please note that the pattern of origami paper varies.)
Size:
Frame folded 7"x 6" (18cm x 16cm),
Frame unfolded 18.5" x 6" (47cm x 16cm)
